David Sohboff is proud to be running for UOD.

“I’m proud to be selected by the City of Newton to run the 2020 Boston Marathon, and raise money, for Understanding Our Differences (UOD).

Because a number of our friends and family members have children and grandchildren with disabilities, a nonprofit like UOD has special meaning for me.

In the past, we’ve supported nonprofits that help students with autism, Asperger syndrome, social anxiety and developmental concerns. And, Understanding Our Differences is different and unique. UOD’s mission is to educate schools, communities and foster respect and inclusion for people of all abilities. As a model for interactive disability awareness curriculum, UOD teaches students to see the whole person and better understand the disability.

Specifically, UOD’s curriculum covers:  Autism · Physical, Intellectual & Learning Disabilities · Blindness & Low Vision · Deafness & Hard of Hearing · Chronic Medical Conditions, including Allergic Conditions, Asthma, Diabetes, Epilepsy.

Simply stated, UOD, based in Newton, has a 40-year history of being a local and national leader in disability awareness education.”  — David Sohboff

Help him reach his fundraising goal of $7,500:

“As an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Understanding Our Differences needs our help to extend their reach and impact.   Your tax-deductible donation will directly help UOD inform more students.  Thank you for your generous support!” — David Sohboff
