Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast 2019

On Friday, May 3, 2019, we hosted our annual Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast at the Scandinavian Living Center Nordic Hall

UOD Board, Advisory Board and Staff, Newton City Officials and Newton Public School Administrators were there to acknowledge all of the hard work  UOD volunteers do every school year.  We all enjoyed a delicious breakfast and donated by Wegmans, Rosenfeld’s Bagels and Starbucks. We had some time to chat with each other and then heard remarks from Dana Hanson, representing the Newton Mayor’s office, NPS Superintendent David Fleishman, UOD Board President Kathy Read, UOD Program Director Jenni Acosta and UOD Program Coordinators Lisa DePalma and Punam Sharma.  We had the pleasure of listening to our UOD High School Intern Nathan Persampieri and our Katie Lynch UOD Program Speaker Award winner Malachi Chase, too.  It was great that we had both Newton North High School and Newton South High School represented!

To all of our volunteers from this year and before, we say a heartfelt Thank You!
The work you do and your commitment to UOD has a profound impact on creating a more inclusive community.
