UOD Marathon Program

Understanding Our Difference launched the Marathon Program in 2015. This program has created enthusiasm and support for our disability awareness programs and message of inclusion for people of all abilities.

Our runners make a personal commitment to undergo vigorous training throughout the year to prepare to run the Boston Marathon. They raise money to support our programs and mission and spread their passion for UOD’s message of inclusion to their communities. The following runners have represented UOD in the Boston Marathon: Matt Stafford (2015); Eric Navales (2016); Emily Manion and Tassy Warren (2017). Alex Levie will represent UOD in the 2019 Boston Marathon.

The Mayor of Newton awarded Understanding Our Differences invitational applications for each of these Boston Marathons.
