An evening presentation by Christopher Willard, PsyD

Thank you for attending our event on Tuesday, September 24, 2024
7:00 – 8:30pm

via Zoom webinar

Today’s children and teens, and the adults who care about them, frequently are grappling with modern-day stressors – be it social media pressures, academic challenges or personal traumas. Mindfulness and related techniques for self-regulation provide an adaptable, creative approach to cultivate calm, resilience, and presence in all of us, whether it’s in a noisy classroom, a hectic home, a stressful performance or elsewhere.

Parents, caregivers, and teachers can help themselves and children build resilience, regulation and mindfulness through simple, practical principles and strategies. Often small ways to support children and ourselves can make a big difference!

In this talk, Dr. Willard will discuss:
  • What is mindfulness and how does this age-old approach work today
  • What do neurobiology and research tell us about the benefits
    of mindfulness
  • How mindfulness helps kids and families slow down, sit still
    and single-task
  • What practical, effective techniques and exercises generate interest
    and buy-in
  • How mindfulness can be fun and accessible even for stressed,
anxious, depressed and distracted kids and adults
  • How mindfulness techniques can be adapted for learning differences,
cultural differences, developmental differences and more

There will be plenty of time for Q&A with Dr. Willard.
