Become a UOD Leader
Understanding Our Differences’ talented leadership includes our experienced staff, working side by side with a dedicated volunteer Board of Directors, as well as our Advisory Board and Medical Advisory Board.
All passionately embrace the goal of transforming schools and communities across the country into places where differences are valued, students with disabilities are understood and respected, and all children are included.
Join our Board of Directors
Board members are the fiduciaries who steer the organization toward a sustainable future by adopting sound, ethical, and legal governance and financial management policies, as well as by making sure the nonprofit has adequate resources to advance its mission.
Board members may join UOD’s board at any time during the year, and meetings are held once a month from September through June. Please contact our Board Co-Presidents to indicate your interest and for more information, [email protected].
Join our Advisory Board
Members of UOD’s Advisory Board play active and supportive roles as ambassadors and volunteers for the organization. They support UOD’s mission by representing UOD accurately and positively in the community, and serve on UOD committees such as fundraising and finance and other ad hoc committees by invitation of Board Co-Presidents.
The Advisory Board has one annual meeting in the fall and one in June, and may join specific Board of Directors meetings by invitation during the year. Please contact our Board Co-Presidents to indicate your interest and for more information, [email protected].
The core values of Understanding Our Differences speak directly to my heart. I would love to become part of this long-standing organization and its ongoing mission of supporting students' individual needs by providing community members with the knowledge and tools for creating a single, cohesive community.
