Sean McIntyre, NPS Graduate, to Run 50 Miles for UOD

Sean McIntyre, Newton Public Schools graduate, is running to support Understanding Our Differences

Sean McIntyre, a graduate of the Newton Public Schools, plans to run a 50-mile race in November to benefit UOD. He is undertaking this challenging event because he feels strongly about the positive impact of UOD, which he remembers vividly from childhood.

The event is the JFK 50 Mile Race, called America’s oldest ultramarathon, to be held in Washington County, Maryland on November 18th.

Sean said, “I spent my whole early education in Newton Public schools in Massachusetts and I was able to see UOD’s positive impact from my early days at Franklin Elementary in educating us about peoples’ (and sometimes our peers) disabilities. At the end of March my wife and I had our first son, so now I also think of the educational systems I want him to grow up with, and I truly hope that it will include schools or communities that work with UOD.”
